Thursday Thoughts: 8/16/12

Good morning!

1.  I can't believe it's already Thursday!  The week has gone by so fast.  It's been a good one though.  We have enjoyed so many nice studies and are feeling super pumped.  This morning I am sending my pioneer partner out alone with the group as I enjoy a morning in for myself.  It's the end of the service year and I am grateful to be ahead enough to take some time off from my normal schedule before we hit the ground running in September.  Hopefully, Chad will have the same luxury next year.  Year one is always the hardest.

2.  It is especially appreciated this morning since I did not sleep well last night.  Missing sleep is absolutely miserable!  How can you feel so tired and your body just refuse to rest?  I have rarely had trouble sleeping prior to living here, but now I seem to have a pattern of sleeping well a few nights and then having a restless one.  I prided myself on being able to sleep anytime, anyplace.  I would hear people talk of sleep trouble and just couldn't imagine what that was like.  Well, now I know and, let me tell you, it is zero fun!  Does that mean I'm getting old?  I thought it might be the caffeine in my evening tea starting to affect me so I adjusted to drinking it a little earlier, but that must not be it.  Hopefully, I will get some rest before the meeting tonight and have better nights to follow.

3.  I have really enjoyed some great conversations via Skype with good friends and family this week.  Corresponding with others by e-mail and a particular social network is encouraging also.  I again and again say thank you to each of you.  You have no idea how much we appreciate visiting and how much it helps us here.

4.  Thursday night is reserved for Skype time with my mom and dad.  I am beside myself to think that in just two weeks from today my mom will be here in the flesh.  I cannot wait to spend time with her and give her a glimpse into our life here.

5.  What a great text today!  We have such wonderful imagery to go with these words thanks to our new DVD.  It really helps you to maintain a sense of urgency and prepare yourself now for the things to shortly take place.  The Watchtower this week, too, is right on time in this regard!

6.  I have rediscovered Pandora thanks to my IPad's new ability to receive this service.  I am loving the variety of music that I can now enjoy while cleaning, cooking, or just hanging around the house.  Any Pandora station recommendations?

7.  Thanks for the movie/TV series recommendations we already received.  We look forward to relaxing and unwinding by viewing some of your favorite picks.

Time to get in a little reading and extra fitness post settlement of my breakfast before showering up and pampering myself a little on my day for me :)  Hope you find time to do a little something for you as well!  Have a great day!  It's almost Friday!
